IMAGES FROM A CHALLENGING DURANGO SARIA RACE
Images from a wet and challenging day at Durango Durango Emakumeen Saria for the team. Nastya Kolesava was the team’s best-placed rider in 43rd.
Maddie Le Roux gives a short summary of the day: “Several teams were pushing hard on the last two smaller laps. I am still working on my positioning and in one of those moments I was on the wrong side of the peloton when it split. I had to fight my way back and I’m quite chuffed I could use the descent to come back as that usually is one of my weaker points. That effort made me happy but it cost me some energy because on the longer climbs it felt like I was pedalling squares. I tried to keep my own rhythm. I’m normally not a fan of the cold weather so I was really looking forward to a watm shower on the last descent!
Overall, some small good things to take from the race, but also disappointed that I didn’t have my normal climbing legs packed today as I know I can do better and be more helpful to my teammate Nastya in the climbs. All-in-all a learning curve, and I appreciate the team giving me the space opportunities to do so.”
