Hannah defends her U23 ITT title at Europeans
Hannah Ludwig won the U23 Individual Time Trial today at the European Road Championships in Plouay, France.
Hannah stormed around the 25.6km course in a time of 35 minutes and 53 seconds, finishing 24 seconds ahead of her next rival, Franziska Koch (GER), and 1:19 ahead of Marta Jaskulska (POL).
“It would be a lie if I would say that I wasn’t nervous. I just wanted to do a perfect ride. I dedicated it to my Mum, who was in hospital until today and every time I felt pain I pushed harder.”
“The hardest section of the course was probably the first descent. I had Lars Teutenberg giving me information and encouragement in the radio which was good. I am very very happy and relieved to win the title again,” said Hannah.
That makes it back to back wins for Hannah, after she won the same title in 2019.
In the elite women’s ITT race at the European road championships the results were:
8th Alena Amialiusik
9th Lisa Klein
15th Omer Shapira
17th Rotem Gafinovitz
