Lisa fourth on the ITT stage one
Lisa Klein finished fourth today in the opening stage of Healthy Ageing Tour in Heerenveen, Netherlands. The 8km individual time trial stage was won by Anna Van der Breggen (DLT), with Klein just 13 seconds behind the winner, and 3 seconds off the podium.
“It was a good course for me and I liked it,” said Klein after the stage.
“My legs felt quite okay. I have not finished working on my TT bike yet so that I feel really as one. There is some more work to do which makes me excited for the next time trials!” exclaimed Klein.
Alice Barnes and Trixi Worrack also finished within the top ten on the stage. “It was a technical course with about 10 corners in the 8km but really not a hard course. I’m still feeling a little fatigue from the races last week in Belgium. I think overall we have a good chance to go for a stage win here at this tour and then we can look later at what our situation is on the general classification,” said Worrack.
Stage two is a 131km stage from Westerkwartier to Grootegast, starting at 13:00 CET and is broadcast live on Podium TV.
