ZOE WINS 2 MAJOR TAYLOR CROSS CUPS
Zoe Bäckstedt had a phenomenal start to the 2023/2024 cyclo-cross season when she claimed two wins at the Major Taylor Cross Cups this weekend in Indianapolis, USA. Zoe won both races on Saturday and Sunday, giving her confidence going into next weekend’s opening round of the Cyclo-Cross World Cup series.
“I had great fun. The course was fast and a great chance to test out my new equipment. I’m happy to back racing cross!” said Zoe.
Zoe will move straight to Waterloo, Wisconsin, to prepare for the World Cup. This season, the series has 14 rounds in 7 different countries. Zoe is eligible for the U23 women’s category, which is raced with the women’s elite, though both have separate World Cup general classifications.
“My goals for the first weekend were to get a good feeling back on the CX bike and test my equipment, which I did. Overall goals this season are the U23 World Cup, European championships, and World Championships. I’d love to take an elite podium in a World Cup, too, but we will see what the season brings.”
