NEW LEADERSHIP AND FRESH FACES IN OUR 2025 PERFORMANCE STAFF

The performance wing of CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto enters the 2025 racing season with a new head and a number of exciting additions to the team.

After three years of establishing and managing operations for the CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto Generation team, as well as serving as a Sports Director, Adam Szabo has been elevated to the all-encompasing Head of Sport. In his new role, Adam will oversee the sporting aspects of both the WorldTour and Generation teams.

“Practically everything that’s a sporting related question will be my responsibility to answer and organise.”

Further to Adam’s promotion, the Sports Director Group has undergone significant changes, with three new staff joining the WorldTeam and another addition to the Generation team for 2025.

Adam elaborates, “we will have the experienced Davide Arzeni and Steffen Radochla working full-time next to myself in the Sports Director group. We we are also counting on the continuous work of André Schulze to help us mainly in the Grand Tours. On the Generation side, we will have the really experienced Małgorzata (Gosia) Jasinska, who was a long-time professional rider in various teams and recently became a Sport Director. We are very happy to have her in our ranks.”

Fresh faces in key roles: Davide is well-known for his work building the highly successful Italian development programme, Team Valcar Travel & Service, and most recently served as a Sports Director at UAE Team ADQ. Steffen, a former German professional rider, joins the team after two seasons working with CERATIZIT-WNT Pro Cycling, following a seven-year tenure with Bora-Hansgrohe.

Gosia brings a wealth of experience, including four Polish National Road Race Championship titles and a 6th-place finish at the Ronde van Vlaanderen. She is passionate about developing a team that will give its all in every race, just as she will in her role.

“I think my strength is that I can still relate to how women cyclists feel. Cycling is still one of the loves of my life, which is why this job is my passion. I put my heart into it, and I hope my cyclists can feel that commitment.”

Describing it as a “huge distinction” to join CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto, Gosia will switch between the Generation and WorldTour teams on a number of occasions, gaining experience through working as a Sport Director at WorldTour races.

“Being part of this team is a great honor and certainly an opportunity to improve my qualifications and gain experience from the best. The opportunity to work with young cyclists at the beginning of their careers, share my experiences, and observe how they shape and develop, is very important. Then, you can also see the fruits of your work.”

Gosia emphasises the team spirit at CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto Generation, noting that every member, from riders to staff, plays an important role in creating a positive atmosphere. “I felt like part of the team from the very beginning,” she adds.

Looking ahead to 2025: While the focus of the CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto Generation team remains heavily weighted towards rider development, Adam, is clear about the big objectives of the WorldTeam for 2025.

“Our main goal will be focused around Tour de France Femmes and defending the title, but we’re also aiming to win more major races. We are targeting bigger races like Strade Bianche, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Ronde Van Vlaanderen, while also looking forward to all the Grand tours – starting with the Vuelta and continuing Giro.”

It is safe to say, there is no shortage of ambition.
