Omer has the ride of her life in ATOC
Omer Shapira put in the ride of her season to breakaway on the stage two climb up to Mt Baldy.
The Israeli road champion was in a 3-rider breakaway and dropped her companions to go solo in an attempt to steal the stage win and GC. Omer built a lead of up to 1 minute, only to be caught in the final kilometres of the steep Mt Baldy climb.
Omer finished 5th, with Kasia Niewiadoma in 6th. The stage was won by Katie Hall (DLT) ahead of tour leader Anna van der Breggen. Omer also took the Most Courageous jersey for her efforts!
