Pauline second in Nové Mêsto
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot started the weekend of racing at Nové Mêsto in Czech Republic with a strong performance in the Short Track World Cup last night to take second place.
The French MTB champion stayed in prime position for the 25 minute race and was the only rider able to go with the final attack of eventual winner Annika Langvad (DEN) coming into the last lap.
“Last week I didn’t have a good start when I missed the pedal. This week it went much better. It was 25 minutes full gas so it wasn’t ever easy. I tried to stay near the front throughout the race but not always there because of the wind,” said Ferrand-Prévot after the podium presentations.
“When Annika attacked I tried to go with her, but it was already hard. Her attack was strong and I gave everything I had to go with her. I’m happy with the second place tonight,” added Ferrand-Prévot.
The women’s XCO event will start at 11:20 CEST on Sunday 27 May and can be watched live on Red Bull.
