Roster for Tour de Yorkshire
CANYON//SRAM Racing send a strong roster to the now two-day women’s ASDA Tour de Yorkshire. Starting tomorrow will be a line up of Alena Amialiusik, Alice Barnes, Hannah Barnes, Tiffany Cromwell, Tanja Erath and Alexis Ryan.
Hannah Barnes finished fifth in last year’s race. “It’s a home race which adds a huge amount of excitement but with that also comes some extra pressure. I had a good race last year and this year our team is stronger so I know that we can be very aggressive in the race.”
While the 132km stage one from Beverley to Doncaster is anticipated to be a bunch sprint, the 128km second stage with undulating terrain from start to finish is destined to change who holds the leader’s jersey and takes the overall win.
“The second stage falls on my birthday and starts in Barnsley so I would like to do well there. I’ve pre-ridden the stage and it’s very challenging! It’s great that the organisers have extended the race to two days and with the live broadcast I’m sure that fans will see an exciting race,” commented Barnes.
Stage one starts on Thursday 3 May at 08:40 BST | 09:40 CET. The race is broadcast in full on ITV4 and can be followed on Twitter with #WTDY.
