Stage 2 Boels Ladies Tour
Lisa Klein sprinted to 12th place in the second stage of Boels Ladies Tour today around Gennep, The Netherlands. The stage was won by Lorena Wiebes (Parkhtotel) ahead of Kirsten Wild (WNT) and Lucinda Brand (SUN).
Lisa: “The race was hectic with a crazy circuit at the finish. The team was supporting me for the bonus sprint during the finish circuits but unfortunately I crashed with around 1.2km to go before this sprint and had to change my bike. I was able to come back into the race and then the team supported me again for the final. Alice especially was bringing me into good positions for the corners which meant I could save some energy.”
“I told Kasia in the radio to ‘go’ but I made the call too late. In this important moment I hesitated, and lost the positioning of where I needed to be in the final sprint. So, I wasn’t really happy with the final of today. I didn’t get the chance to sprint in the end because I behind a wall of riders, but mostly because of the mistakes I made before that, so I’m looking forward to the next opportunity and to get it right.”
