Neve Bradbury stormed into sixth in the general classification and leads the youth classification by more than two minutes after today’s mountain stage at the Tour of Scandinavia.

The CANYON//SRAM Racing rider was supported by stellar teamwork throughout the 127km stage and was led into the summit finish to Norefjell in one of the top positions.

“My teammates supported me all day, every day this week. Before the stage, I was nervous but motivated to try something. We had riders in the break, following or shutting down moves or making solo attacks. They rode so well. In the lead into the climb, I had all my teammates and Roy, especially making sure I was forward and ready for the final climb. It was pretty cool,” said Neve after the stage.

“Shari rode so strongly on the climb, and our group became small. We got to the steep part, and I tried an attack. I was close to making it work and being there to go for a podium, but then the group behind me returned on the flat parts. I tried again in the final kilometre as I didn’t want to go to the line for a sprint. In the end, it didn’t work out, but I attacked and tried, and I am content with how I raced.”

The youth classification lead moved from teammate Shari Bossuyt to Bradbury, who now goes into the final stage at +2:06 over Bossuyt in the white jersey and sixth place in the overall at +1:00.

“The jersey wasn’t our goal, but we’re happy to keep it in the team and wear it. Tomorrow will be a tough last day, but we’ve raced so well this week, so we want to finish on a high,” added Neve.
