Stage five, a win to the breakaway
Stage five of Boels Ladies Tour, a long 159km around the city of Sittard, saw a win to the breakaway.
Four riders went clear early in the stage, including world champion Chantal Blaak (DLT), who later went on to a solo win. The remnants of the breakaway and a second group that had bridged across, were all reeled in in the final kilometres of the stage, but the peloton could not catch Blaak who took the stage win.
Elena Cecchini maintains the lead in the sprint classification jersey with just one stage of the tour remaining. The final stage tomorrow, an 18.6km individual time trial in Roosendaal, starts at 13:00 CEST.
