Chloé Dygert USA
Although Chloé Dygert needs no introduction, her career thus far has certainly not been straightforward. With an enviable palmarès that includes double UCI Junior World Champion status on the road, as well as multiple world championship and Olympic medals on the track, she has nonetheless encountered numerous setbacks, including multiple major injuries and illness.
After an awful crash during the 2020 UCI World Championships individual time trial, which resulted in a horrific leg injury, Chloé signed with CANYON//SRAM Zondacrypto. She proved her resilience by bouncing back to take an Olympic medal in the team pursuit at the Tokyo 2021 Games and finishing seventh in the time trial on the road. Along the way, she claimed the time trial title at the USA National Road Championships.
In 2022, she was sidelined with Epstein-Barr virus but again demonstrated her remarkable determination in 2023. That year could be considered her first full season on the road in Europe, where the 26-year-old repeatedly showcased her exceptional ability, securing nine WorldTour podiums, including a stage win at the RideLondon Classique.
She capped an extraordinary season by reclaiming the rainbow jersey in the Time Trial at the World Championships for the second time in her career and adding another world title to her palmarès in the 3km individual pursuit on the track.
While her career has been marked by serious adversity and immense challenge, Chloé has consistently shown remarkable strength of character, always fighting her way back to the top. Even in 2024, when an Achilles injury and a bout of Covid disrupted her early-season, she expanded her palmarès with Olympic gold in the team pursuit and bronze in the time trial at Paris 2024. She also earned silver and bronze in the road race and time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in Zurich.
For the year ahead, Chloé’s primary goal is clear: maintaining her health. As she says:
“First and foremost, my main goal is to remain healthy. If I can maintain my health, I believe most anything the team and I create as a goal can be accomplished. The team says jump; I’ll ask how high. We have greatness to achieve, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we can accomplish it!”
A Chloé Dygert in full health and form is a formidable yet truly exciting prospect.
