The line up for Scheldeprijs
We next race UCI 1.1 Scheldeprijs on Wednesday 7 April.
The team will bring back Neve Bradbury who performed well in her first UCI race at last week’s Dwars Door Vlaanderen. Alongside Bradbury will be sprinters Alice Barnes and Alexis Ryan, with Ella Harris, Lisa Klein and Hannah Ludwig finalising the six-rider squad.
Neve said, “Scheldeprijs is pan flat so typically a sprinters race, however anything can happen especially if it’s windy. The course doesn’t suit my strengths but I’m hopeful I can contribute something to the team.”
“I’ve gained a little bit of knowledge about how to navigate the bunch from last week’s race. I’ll try to keep working on positioning and race craft, when to save energy and when to really fight. It will be another good experience and the first time racing with Lisa and Hannah too.”
After sprinting to third at Dwars Door Vlaanderen, Alexis feels confident going into Scheldeprijs.
“I’m expecting the race to be quite hectic and aggressive. The weather looks cold and windy, so positioning in the crosswinds will be critical. If the wind is strong enough, there will be a reduced bunch coming into the finish. DDV gave me a big boost of confidence in my form and sprint. I hope I can show again that I’m one of the best sprinters,” said Alexis.
