The race to Wales
The final stage of OVO Energy Women’s Tour was the first time in its history that the tour had ventured into Wales. Despite a hilly parcours and several splits in the peloton on the first QOM, a large 55-rider group sprinted to victory in Colwyn Bay.
The stage victory went to Lotta Lepistö (CBT) with Coryn Rivera (SUN) securing the win in the general classification. Lisa Klein was CANYON//SRAM Racing’s best placed rider in 10th position in the bunch sprint.
“Even though I was tired from the previous stages I did feel better today. The team did well to help me through the final kilometres and bring me into position to go for the sprint. I know I’ve missed some racing and my full power is still coming back, but I’m positive for the next races coming up. I’ve enjoyed being back racing,” said Klein.
